1. About this Cookie Notice

This Cookie Notice explains how BYTECH DIGITAL INNOVATION LTD ("BYTECH", "we", "us" or "our") uses, or may use, cookies and similar technologies on bytechng.com.

It should be read together with LEG-WEB-001 — Website Privacy Notice. This notice reflects the intended launch state of the BYTECH corporate website and must be reviewed before any analytics, advertising, behavioural tracking, embedded third-party tracking or similar non-essential technology is enabled.

2. What Are Cookies?

Cookies are small data files or similar browser-storage mechanisms that websites may place or read on a user's device. They can support functions such as security, network stability, accessibility, remembering choices, measuring website use or enabling third-party services.

Other technologies may perform functions similar to cookies. Where they track or process personal data in a similar way, BYTECH will treat them consistently with applicable data-protection requirements.

3. BYTECH's Current Launch Position

At the current approved website stage, BYTECH has not approved advertising cookies, behavioural tracking, marketing pixels or analytics cookies for production use.

The website may use strictly necessary technical mechanisms where required to provide core functionality, security, network stability, accessibility or other essential website operation.

BYTECH will not describe optional tracking as 'necessary' merely to avoid obtaining a user's choice.

4. Cookie Categories

Cookie categories and current launch state
CategoryPurposeCurrent Launch StateUser Choice
Strictly NecessaryCore security, network stability, accessibility or essential website operation.Permitted where genuinely required. No optional opt-in required where applicable law permits necessary technologies without a separate selection.
Preferences / FunctionalRemember non-essential choices or enhance convenience. Not currently approved.Do not activate until appropriately disclosed and, where required, chosen by the user.
AnalyticsMeasure visits, usage patterns or performance beyond essential operational monitoring. Not currently approved.Requires prior consent/choice before activation where applicable.
Advertising / MarketingAdvertising, retargeting, cross-site tracking or marketing measurement. Not currently approved.Requires specific prior consent; reject must be available.

5. Consent and Choice

Under current Nigeria Data Protection Commission guidance, cookies and similar tracking tools should comply with data-protection principles. Non-essential cookies require a freely given, informed and specific choice, while genuinely necessary cookies used for core functionality such as security, network stability management and accessibility may be treated differently.

If BYTECH introduces non-essential cookies or similar tracking, the website should provide a conspicuous choice before those technologies are activated. Users should be able to accept or reject non-essential categories without being forced to accept them in order to access ordinary website content.

6. Cookie Banner

If the production website uses only genuinely necessary technologies, BYTECH may provide an appropriate informational notice without presenting misleading optional-cookie controls.

If non-essential cookies or similar tracking are introduced, the website should display a conspicuous cookie banner or preference interface that:

  • Clearly identifies BYTECH as the organisation responsible for the website.
  • Explains the presence and purposes of the relevant cookies or tracking tools.
  • Provides clear Accept and Reject choices for non-essential technologies.
  • Does not use pre-ticked optional consent.
  • Allows granular choices where different non-essential purposes are used.
  • Provides a straightforward way to change or withdraw consent later.
  • Does not activate non-essential tracking before the required choice is obtained.

7. Current Cookie Register

Before public launch, BYTECH should run a production cookie/storage scan and populate the register below with every cookie or similar technology actually present.

8. Managing Cookies in Your Browser

Most browsers provide controls that allow users to view, block or delete cookies. Browser settings differ by product and version. Blocking strictly necessary technologies may affect website functionality.

Browser controls do not replace BYTECH's obligation to obtain appropriate consent before using non-essential tracking where consent is required.

9. Third-Party Technologies

BYTECH will not assume that a third-party script, embedded service, analytics tool, video player, chat widget or social-media component is privacy-neutral. Before introducing a third-party technology, BYTECH should assess what data it collects, where data is processed, what cookies or identifiers it sets, and whether consent or additional privacy information is required.

Any approved third-party cookies should be identified in the production Cookie Register.

10. Analytics

BYTECH has not yet approved a production analytics platform. If analytics is introduced, BYTECH should determine whether it uses cookies, device identifiers or other tracking; configure it with data minimisation and privacy controls; update this Cookie Notice and the Privacy Notice; and obtain prior consent where required.

Analytics should not be activated merely because it is technically available through the hosting platform.

11. Advertising and Marketing Tracking

BYTECH has not approved advertising pixels, retargeting cookies, cross-site behavioural tracking or similar marketing technologies for the current website launch.

If such technologies are proposed later, they require separate privacy and consent review before activation.

12. Withdrawing or Changing Consent

Where BYTECH uses non-essential technologies based on consent, users should be able to withdraw or change that consent as easily as they gave it. The production website should provide a persistent route such as 'Cookie Settings' when optional cookie categories exist.

Withdrawal should prevent future use of the relevant non-essential technologies, subject to technical steps needed to remove or expire existing identifiers.

13. Changes to this Cookie Notice

BYTECH may update this Cookie Notice when its website technology, providers, cookies, tracking practices or legal obligations change. The current approved version should display an effective or last-updated date.

A new consent choice may be required where BYTECH materially changes the purposes or technologies for which consent was previously obtained.
